The song went viral, reaching over 500 million views on Facebook, and showcased Jay’s talent and dedication to raising awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association. As a result of his advocacy efforts, he has been involved with several international events, including the Rita Hayworth Gala, which has raised over $100 million for the Alzheimer’s Association and has received numerous accolades, including The Caregiver Award from the National Alzheimer’s Association.

Jay is set to hit country radio with new music in 2023. He is also friends with our good friend Kevin Dill, who was recently on Alzheimer’s Speaks Radio talking about his life, and the symptoms he deals with, living with Lewy Body Dementia.

Lyrics For The Song – “No Prayer Like Mama’s”

Writers: Jay Allen, Justin Morgan – Producer: Justin Morgan – Mixer: Micah Wilshire

Ain’t no prayer like mamas

When it’s your turn up to bat

And she knows it’s only little league

But she knows you want it bad

And when you get a little older

And you’re out a little late

She’ll bend God’s ear all night long

Til you get back home safe

XXXX

All those hallelujah amens

And cryin on her knees

Sayin grace at dinner time

And telling’ God her dreams

She’s an angel she’s a saint

I’m telling y’all there ain’t

No prayer like mama’s

XXXX

Ain’t no prayer like mamas

When it’s a prayer for the girl

That’ll make her baby happy

That’s gonna be his whole world

She’ll know the Lord was listening

Cause she can’t help but smile

When she sees that answered prayer

Walking down the aisle

XXXX

All those hallelujah amens

And cryin on her knees

Sayin grace at dinner time

And telling’ God her dreams

She’s an angel she’s a saint

I’m telling y’all there ain’t

No prayer like mama’s

XXXX

Ain’t no prayer like mamas

When she walks the streets of gold

Still praying for her babies

Kneeling at His throne

I know she’s lookin’ down

And I know she’s all healed now

Bet she’s singing out amazing grace

And oh how sweet the sound

XXXX

Of those hallelujah amens

And cryin on her knees

Sayin grace at dinner time

And telling’ God her dreams

She’s an angel she’s a saint

I’m telling y’all there ain’t

No prayer like mama’s

XXXX

Now she’s watching over us

I’m telling y’all there’s just

No prayer like mama’s

Musical Play Highlights A Mother & Daughters Relationship through Dementia

Alzheimer’s Speaks Radio

My Mother Has 4 Noses Is Back!

Musical Play – One Daughter’s Story of Life with Her Mother Who Has Dementia

Lori La Bey host of Alzheimer’s Speaks Radio interviews Jonatha Brooke, a highly acclaimed singer/songwriter with 4 major label releases, and 9 CDs on her own label, Bad Dog Records.  She has written for film, including Disney’s Peter Pan and Tinkerbell series; TV, including the theme for Joss Whedan’s  Dollhouse; and for other artists – Katy Perry, Madeleine Peyroux, Lizz Wright, Joe Sample.

The interview will focus on Jonatha’s 2014, One-Woman Musical, My Mother Has 4 Noses, which played Off Broadway at the Duke Theater. It was a Critic’s picks in the NY Times, and NY Post and ran for 3 months.  La Bey has personally seen the show several times, with a variety of friends and associates.  Each time, La Bey has been so impressed with the beautiful storyline highlighted through gorgeous music, which allows the audience laugh and cry together, removing the isolation dementia can create.
