Dr. Bill Thomas and his wife Jude Founders of the Eden Alternative

Lori La Bey of Alzheimer's Speaks and Senior Lifestyle Trends

I am so excited to announce Dr. Bill Thomas, a renowned mover and shaker in the healthcare industry interviewed me today about my innovative new person-centered approaches to Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

Dr. Bill Thomas is an international authority on geriatric medicine and eldercare from upstate New York. He is the founder of the Eden Alternative, a philosophy and program that de-institutionalized nursing homes in all 50 states and world-wide over the past 20 years. A self-described “Nursing Home Abolitionist,” he is also creator of the Green House, a radically new approach to long term care where nursing homes are torn down and replaced with small, home-like environments where people can live a full and interactive life. In 2005, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation announced a five year $10 million grant that will result in the creation of Green House projects in all fifty states.

Please go to the Picker Report on Aging in America with Dr. Bill Thomas  for the interview details.

Please check out all the other great videos on the Picker Report on Aging on their youtube channel.
Dr Bill Thomas has also launched Changing Aging a great group on Linkedin which I highly recommend.  Please click on “Changing Aging” above for the link to the blogstream which also has a button on the left side to follow on linkedin.
