Dementia and the Arts is an Educational Panel where all levels of artists and all types are welcome. Our goal is to elevate panelists work and ability to create beauty in many forms. They will share examples of various types of art they participate in, how, and why they started, what they have learned, and what they personally get out of making art. Panelists, do not have to attend all sessions.

As you will see from the sample video above, conversations are comfortable, casual, and fascinating. We have so much to learn from one another. All recordings will be prerecorded and published to Alzheimer’s Speaks YouTube channel with a specific playlist channel for easy access. Each episode will be pushed out on Alzheimer’s Speaks social media channels as well.

Anyone living with dementia interested in participating, please reach out to Lori La Bey via email, or Private message her on FaceBook

I Love This Company!

Arthur’s Residential Care has sponsored and supported the Memory Cafe Concept from the beginning I brought it to the United States.  The minute I suggested they become involved in launching one they jumped with both feet in the water and have never looked back. ACR not only graciously gave us space for meetings, but provided treats and additional facilitators as our one group expanded to three.  They have been so progressive in staff dementia training and creating moments of joy for both their residents and their families; which I must admit brings a smile to my face and a warmth to my heat every time.  I am so blessed to witness their work.  Kudos Arthur’s Residential Care!

Push Research Forward. Join the A-List

An Important message from our friend Meryl Comer:

We want what you want when it comes to figuring out solutions to the challenges we all face on our personal Alzheimer’s journeys. Take the critical issue of recruitment for clinical trials. How do you figure out whether you or a loved one is eligible, or if there is even a trial or study close to home? These simple online tools from two trusted A-List partners will help you get started, so just click below to get started.

Roobrik: click here to take a free, 4-minute assessment to learn more about clinical research and decide whether participating in a research study is right for you. You will be asked a series of questions to help you understand how factors such as age and health can affect which studies you might be eligible for, and what exactly is involved in clinical studies.

Antidote: click here when you are ready to look for a clinical trial. You will be asked a series of questions to determine which trials may be right for you.

Please give us feedback on your experience and look out for the next round of decision tree tools on issues like “Is It Still Smart To Drive” and “Is Homecare Right For You.”
