Drum Roll Please… Creating Comfortable Conversations About Dementia Care

The time has come for comfortable, informative conversations to hit the airwaves highlighting dementia care! We are thrilled to announce “Dementia Divas – Caregiving & The Arts.” Click the graphic above to check out the trailer featuring Teepa Snow, Dr. Macie Smith and Lori La Bey.

Dementia Divas coming soon on SaltBox TV, a free online streaming service.

Alzheimer’s Speaks Radio host, Lori La Bey will talks with Elion Caspi of Dementia Behavior Consulting and Cyndy Luzinski of Dementia Together about how can we and how should we support advocates living with dementia as their symptoms progress.  How do we create a transition plan?  When should a succession plan be discussed, developed, and implemented?  Does anyone currently have a plan in place?  If so, what does it look like?

Our goal with this program is to expose this topic first without putting anyone on the spot. We will do a follow up conversation inviting everyone to join us – Those living with dementia, families, and organizations large and small who would like to participate.

Alzheimer’s Speaks Radio will be holding an open forum in the future and we would love for you to join that conversation.

Let Your ideas be heard around the world!

Email Lori La Bey, founder of Alzheimer’s Speaks and host of Alzheimer’s Speaks Radio if you would like to participate in the show or submit your thoughts and ideas for others to hear.  Email Lori at Radio@AlzheimersSpeaks.com

A Tribute to Our Friend and Advocate Paulan Gordon

The above video is in Memory of Paulan Gordon a good friend to many and a global advocate who lived with vascular dementia. Paulan was fearless and progressive in her mission to improve dementia care & support. She helped people understand what stigmas where attached to a diagnosis of dementia and routinely educated people how to recognize and reduce stigmas through inclusion and giving people hope that living well with dementia was possible.

This video was pulled together in collaboration of three organizations which Paulan was actively involved in: Dementia Action Alliance (DAA), Dementia Mentors, and Alzheimer’s Speaks. We thank all of the individuals that shared their love and respect for Paulan Gordon and her advocacy.
